I crossed a flash flood stream in Moab on shafer trail last year. Had I known a few hundred feet later was a big ass cliff and waterfall I probably wouldn’t have done that. Scary to think about

We were just talking about this on a trail today. Crazy stuff. Water is HIGH this year.

I've had my fair share of river crossings when I was in PR, but I've always been super careful. I've seen my fair share of lucky idiots see how far they can push before getting their tickets punched by the current and all I could think was that I was a lifeguard in college and seeing drownings first hand, drowning is not a fun way to go...

People often under estimate the power of moving water. I can't remember the depth (either 6 or 12") of swiftly moving water it takes to move a vehicle. It's not much. I came upon a flash flood in the Mojave a few years ago and it was probably 24-36" I just sat and waited for it to go down. I don't know how I'd have explained to my boss I was swept down to Print, NV...haha.
