Speedometer question

I have a 87 yj there has been a lot of work done to it be for I got it. Its got dana 44 in front and dana 60 in the rear and running 35 inch tired. Trying to figure out what gears I have in it. My speedo is off by 20 mile hr . I'm going 70 and I'm really going 50 and my rpm are still good at 2 g and when is says 90 the rpm are at 2500 any help would be great thanks

You can find out your gear ratio fairly closely like Eddie said in a thread a while back. Jack up the rear. Put a strip of tape at 12 o'clock on ur rear drive shaft. Do the same to a rear tire. Count how many rotations the DS makes in one complete tire rotation. If its just under four...3.73, just over 4...4.10, just below 5...4.88s...it's just a quick way to gestimate without having to count teeth on ur R&P...good luck! I have a YJ right now having issues with a high idle after a water pump change...LOST! Let me know if that helps.
