TrailRidden's Build

Its been about 5 months now since I purchased my 2010 JKUR. Seems like a good time to start a build thread before I go any deeper and have way to much to post at once.:cheesy: I've always been into the trail scene but only by power sports, never full size vehicles. At one point I did have an '84 Ford Bronco II with a 4'' Lift on 33'' Swampers but I had bought it with everything installed. Unfortunately I was only able to wheel it a couples times before selling it. I've wanted a Jeep for many years now and the time finally came to trade in. Over the past months, I fell in love with the whole Jeep scene. I feel a real passion growing here and I cant wait for the adventures to come.

Now for the goodies.

These are from the evening I drove her home and a couple days after. It just so happened to come with a pre-installed 3'' BDS lift with 35'' BFG KM2's.

Immediately I noticed that I had to do something about the little 3.8L mini-van engine. So I installed a K&N CAI, Dynomax Rock Crawler exhaust and a Super Chips Flashpaq. With just these 3 items I find that the little engine is quite capable for what it is, even though we always want more.

Next it was time for some armor underneath. Being new to the jeep community and after some research, I took a stab at some skid splates. I ended up installing the ninth-degree AEV skid, Rancho oil pan skid, M.O.R.E. evap can skid and an ARB diff cover for the front. Unfortunately I cant seem to find my evap can skid picture :idontknow: but you can see some of it in the AEV skid pic.

Since the belly seemed armored enough for the time being, I decided I'd better protect the outside too. I then installed the L.O.D. signature series Rock rails and stubby front bumper with stinger.I was a little worried about how big the stinger would actually be but after installment I was quite pleased.

To fill up that gap in the bumper and to give me piece of mind on the trail, I picked up a WARN Zeon 10-s. Also while I was hooking something up to the battery, I grabbed some KC High-lites and these cool HD battery terminals.

About this time I Figured I should show some support to the forum that has been answering all my newbie questions and concerns. Thanks everyone!

I had a weekend wheeling trip planned shortly after and decided it was a good time to do a fender chop and pull the rear bumper off. Yes, I stole Moby's lines.:cheesy:

My trip was to Turkey Bay OHV area at Land Between the Lakes in KY. I actually didnt get many photos because I was always driving but I grabbed couple.

Unfortunately upon my return I came into some death wobble. After inspection of the front end I found that my tie rod adjustment threads were cracked. I went ahead and replaced the tie rod and drag link with a Currie HD steering kit. I still had death wobble.:icon_crazy: So I inspected my track bar and sure enough, a bushing was wallowed to a U and very cracked. I said why not keep it int he family and ordered a Currie Track bar. No more death wobble.:thumb: Man, these johnny joints are freakin sweet.:clap2: You may also notice my Rancho steering stabilizer that I had installed the month before.

This is how she currently sits. I could not be more pleased with the performance thus far. I have huge plans for her already but for now I'm just trying to get as much experience under my belt as possible. Be sure to check back, who knows what i'll install next.

On my way back I heard a few unsettling noises and this is what I found...

Make sure to re-check your spacers after 150 miles and again after going on trails....over the past year there has been 3 separate incidents of guys having wheel come off..
