Hi-Lift Rattling Too Much?

I have my Hi-Lift Jack mounted on the rear hinges and I was fine with the occasional rattling coming from it when I first installed it but it gradually got worse and worse until it was driving me crazy. Simple fix. Remove the handle (save the pin) and mount it to the hooks on the bottom of the rear seat with cable ties.

^^Looks like it will probably slide around some so I need to take care of that.

Now time to drive down the road and see if the rattling is not as bad.

Just drove around, problem solved. Only rattling now is from the lock on the jack but compared to the rattling when the handle was attached it's almost silent.

Side note: I wanted to mount it inside across the roll bar in the rear laying one end above the speaker and the other across from it but my dad made a good point when he said without the lock to lock it in there someone could just cut through my soft top and take the jack out so I wont be going that route.

Thanks for the hint. I will try that and see how I like it. After the Hi-Lift isolator broke, I just put a large zip tie around the handle and jack real tight just above the lock piece.

Caught the Bug
I never take the handle off the jack so I just threw a couple of tack welds on mine. Nice and quiet :)

I painted the jack black to match my JK. Then I put about ten coats of Rustolem bed liner on the part of the handle that goes in the jack.

Thanks for the info guys. Got my new jack in the mail yesterday and I'm sure this stuff will come in handy soon. Damn I love this site!!
