Wanting to lift... Suggestions please.

So here's the deal, I have an '11 JKU and i'm looking at lifts. I want to stay under $1000, and under 3" of lift. I'm not looking to do any extreme rock crawling, mainly just trails with the occasional rocks here and there...

Will getting a lift 3" or under keep me from having to replace other parts (drive shaft, etc) or should I stay at 2.5" to avoid that. I'll be running 33" Nitto Trail Grapplers, and I have a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks already. What do y'all suggest?

These are the 3 i'm considering:

I have heard good things about the 2.5" teraflex lift and you can run 35's with it I believe without any issues. That's what I am planning on getting for my rig and running 35's.

My only concern with TF is the coil sagging i've been reading about... I plan to add a stinger, and I don't know if it'll end up sagging too much in the front.

Hmmm not sure about that. I thought I heard you could run the leveling kit too if you needed to. I think it was in a teraflex which lift do I get video. They went over all of their lifts.

The TeraFlex springs normally run a little higher than advertised so a little sagging may not be as much an issue with their springs in your case. Have you considered just running budget boost instead and saving the extra money for other mods, pretty sure you can run 33s stock.

Do you have a manual or auto trans. ?

That may require a new front shaft with a 3" lift. Maybe not right away but soon after from what everyone says. Even a 2.5" lift with shocks that allow to much droop can damage the front shaft.

Oh yeah, if you haven't already you may need to add 1.5 wheels spacers if you are running the stock wheels which run roughly $100 a pair.

2.5" coil lift will net you more and be perfect. With more you will run into driveshaft issues and other issues trying to get the axle centered and your castor adjusted. You would want front lower control arms at a minimum. I would just get a 2.5" lift and save the money if I were you.

I've decided on the Rock Krawler 2.5 Stock Mod lift. At lease I can build on it as I progress...

Thats what I want to get eventually. Unfortunately I am a broke grad student so I can't really afford that right now. Post up after you get it and let us know how you like it

Really good foundation kit, I installed the 3.5 flex kit this past weekend and really like it. The 3.5 netted more height than I expected/planned and should of gone with the 2.5 max travel but I still can't complain. The LCAs are built solid, and worthy of being your next piece to the upgrade.

Pic of the 3.5 Flex with 35 TGs, guessing it would be comparable to how your 2.5 with 33s should look.

2.5 is really even too much lift with 33's group2.jpg

the first silver one in the picture would be mine, with teraflex 2.5 coil lift on 33" toyo open country mt's (measure 32.5" mounted, very close to a 33" tire, closer than most any other). maybe wouldnt look as bad if the fenders where not cut.... but u really dont need any lift for 33's. if u want to be rid of the rake a leveling kit would do just fine for that. the bigger the lift really doesnt mean more flex either... flex is mostly determined by shock length and how much down travel u can get. matching the right shocks to maximize down travel and using as much of the shock's uptravel w/o bottoming it out or wasting uptravel with too much bumpstop will net good flex. ive seen plenty of pics of stock rigs with awesome flex, just by getting a leveling kit with some 5100s for a 0-2" lift would be great for 33's. just my 2 cents

1369800094794.jpg for a lil comparison, here is my sister in law's 2dr on 33" duratracs with just jku front springs to level out the rig and below better shot of mine. 1369800220022.jpg

I have a set of Bilstein 5100s ready to put on when I get the lift. I will eventually get 35" tires, but 33" is what I will run for now.
