Overland Hood/Windshield Cables

I've seen a couple of overland/expedition rigs running cables from their hood up to their windshield or roof rack.

What are these cables called and watch is their purpose?

They're called limb risers. They help lessen the chance of tree limbs smacking into the windshield. The limb simply rises with the cable up over the windshield

Don't know what they are called, but they are to push branches and brush up and over the rig without hitting the windshield.

Oh cool, Thanks everyone!

Something like that might actually be useful out here on the east coast.

Now the interesting thing is that I asked this question because I saw them fitted on a jk in Moab video! Doh
