Wave from Germany

:standing wave:

Ok, let´s start. I´m also in the JK-forum since a couple of month.

I´m 42 engineering technician from Moenchengladbach Germany.
Work in the development department of an automotive supplier and oil company.
Was a couple of times in the US and work there a short time. (Naperville Ill)
Had a route 66 trip in 2009.
And hopefully will do a trip from New york to Florida in 2013.
And even more hoping for 2015???? doing a trip to the famous trails in Utah and Colorado.
Had a ZJ for 2 years. And after I was fed up with all those repairs I replaced it with an Bright White JK Unlimited Rubicon.
Unfortunatly we only can buy diesels here and they cost around 53000$ with a softop (but with the large navigation package)
Spend another 4000$ just for a couple of 33" wheels/tires and a 1.5" spring lift kit. (and to get it street legal)
It´s not easy here with building a rig or getting parts street legal......:naw:

Also we don´t have any trails here. None, not one trail......
Altough we got a couple of old sand and gravel pits where we can drive.
So I tried the Jk once or twice......

Next trip will probably be on the 19th of May to an orv park in Belgium.

Here is a pic of my Jk at an old coal mine, storage facility of the coal mine.
It´isn´t active any more, so we can ride there a bit.

So that´s all for now.......

I just might start a thread posting the further work on my JK. And about the problems you get with such things here in germany.

I just can´t stop thinking of buying new parts.......:icon_crazy:

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Beeing in such a forum and talking to the people, watching al those videos and pix just makes me feel "home"

I know that my rig will probably never be finished due to the immense costs here.
O by the way diesel fuel costs this week 7.65$ per gallon
Gas is even hihger for 0.50$

But the journey is the reward.......
Same with Colorado, Utah and so on. Hopefully when I´m retiered :rolleyes2: I can spend some more time there.......
Till then I just can dream about it and..... say one day.........

Like I said, I´ll continue with a little build up story. I`m so nervous about new parts. Since 2-3 weeks all I can think of are lift kits and shocks
