shattered a ujoint in the double cardon, broke the coupler and twisted the splines in the slip joint

wow, you broke it right at the trunion. what were you doing when it happened? looks like a 1350 is in your future.

nothing to extreme, never real felt it bind up. Was just doing a ledge and when the rear tires started grabing I heard a "pop"

more times than not, breaks like this were already in the making from other obstacles that you've taken on. this ledge was probably just the straw that broke the camels back. i too have tried running 1310 shafts with 37's in the past and, while it can be done but, if you play on the rocks, a 1350 is the way to go.
