thardy's slowest build thread ever...

Going to be spending tomorrow tackling the Rigids by wiring up the Rugged Ridge switch panel and also installing the cb! Hoping everything goes smooth. Then I drop her off Monday after work to have the Evo Skins and ProTek skids put on!

nice! looks good! may i suggest you go out and get some daystar tire isolators. this will keep your tire snug to the body and not allow it to jiggle

This will definitely be happening soon!

Alright, so I'm looking for a little guidance on my next bigger purchase for the Jeep. Do I go with a winch and mount on my stock stubby bumper or an Evo 1/4 pounder with stinger? Thoughts on what to go with first?

Well i just finished mounting up my winch for the stock font bumper. I went this route, rather than getting a new front bumper because I think that recovery gear should be first when it comes to Jeep parts.

You can get the 1/4 pounder without the stinger and get a winch at the same time. Then add the stinger later. Just another option for you

How did that work for you? Im thinking about a front stubby chop and keeping a winch on it

I did it to my 09 and Im doing it to my 14. I had the Rough country one on my old jeep and I have the rock hard one on there now. First time around it worked out well, I hated my chop job and the paint on the RC winch mount was shit. Ill throw up some more pics of the new plate in my build thread once I get the bumper cut and back on.

Had a great time out wheeling at Durhamtown Plantation this weekend. While the Jeep performed flawlessly, I need to work on my abilities. Need to find someone to spot for me. Makes things a little harder when you don't have someone you can trust telling you where to go. Either way, a great time was had and no carnage to speak of.

It was also military vehicle weekend, so there were a ton of dueces and other various military rides. This setup was just too cool not to share.

You ever try slippery nipple?

You ever try slippery nipple?

Not this time. We made over to park 2 later in the day, did a couple hill climbs and that was about it. Not having anyone with me that has decent experience spotting, I didn't push the issue when my buddy said he didn't want to head over there.

Yeah makes sense. I have never really looked around on the easier side. I would say that you would be good on slippery nipple. Theres only one place where it can get a little sketchy. But the 2 door im sure you good get by easy. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1413133072.335479.jpg that rock next to the driver rear is the worst part.

So, had the rig up on the lift last night and noticed a little oil residue on the driver side rear shock. Given that the shocks themselves only have about 10-12k miles on them, curious as to why I'm seeing signs of a leaky shock. Any ideas? Either way, going to need to try and pick up another one.

I'm taking it in tomorrow to get my last freebie oil change from the dealer so I'm curious as to of they'll say anything. If they do, I'm really curious as to how they'll treat it, since even though they didn't come on my Jeep, they are still stock shocks from a Rubicon.

Got the oil changed today at the dealer and, as I expected, their multi-point inspection didn't even bring them to mention the noticeable oil residue on the shock.

So, now to figure out what to do with the shock. Anyone have a guess as to how it happened? Shock not being proper length for my setup or just a bad shock? I don't want to go pick up another take-off for it to just happen again because of my setup. Thoughts?
