My bet is that it is going to be good!

Some downers right here^^^

1st- its better then no film!
2nd- if you look at the first film and the amount of time it took to make( as in they wheeled and very soon after already had a half way ok video out) is pretty damn impressive!
3rd- If its so bad lets see some of you videos of wheeling lol?

It is so hard to get good video and wheel. U need a dedicated crew or people. And it is also a job to edit it. For a professional crew it should be quite good u would think..

It's kinda like that time you are expecting to get a drink of Coke or Pepsi and you forgot you ordered tea. The tea is great but not when you are expecting something else.....

Hmmm...a totally different analogy came to my mind. I was thinking it is more like the time you thought you were going to get a BJ and instead someone punched you square in the nuts.

Sorry, but it won't be close and it won't be "good enough". There is a reason the word "personal" is used in the phrase "personal touch". Eddie and Cindy have it and the replacement videos I have seen do not. It really is as simple as that.

On the bright side though, I'm sure NR4x4 can enlist the help of its super secret spy underground followers to rack up a few YouTube hits.

I didn't mean Eddie and Cindy's videos aren't better. I personally feel they are and for the personal aspects you've mentioned. It just seems the whole JK-X in general has become vastly more commercialized so it shouldn't be that surprising when that shows in the video.

Hell, maybe it always was and the Ohs just found a way to find a story for us...

I just don't think its fair to compare the two video producers and think that if one goes in expecting the same type of production they shouldn't be surprised at the disappointment.

I hate when that happens. :cheesy:

I just watched one of the "other" JKX vids last night. The most simplest way I can put it is this. The new vid format is narrative.....a we did this, then we're gonna do this, and last we did this....and here are a few cursory "participant" sound bites.

Wayalife productions produced theirs as if a telling a story, drawing you in, giving you a plot with suspense, challenge, success, drama, friendship, etc. It made you feel like you got to know the event from inside and as if you were almost there because you "experienced" it right along with them.

Guess some people wouldn't notice and just think "cool 4x4ing vid bro." But it makes a big difference when watching to me. Will be interesting to see how the "TV" version compares and utilizes all the footage and hopefully not just a N4x4 go pro vid.

I have yet to watch any of the new videos. From the way it sounds not missing much. It also seems they aren't as advertised as they used to be for the release dates.

This!!!! Eddie and Cindy's videos are what really pulled me back into the Jeep scene , and it wasn't the trail footage alone it was the comradery you have on the trail with your friends the friends you make on the trail and that is as big a part of their videos as the trail footage, the new videos don't seem any different to me than the thousands of amateur videos all over YouTube.

It's fucked up, the people that really made JKX videos famous for what they are, will not benefit from it.

It's cool though, it's the American way..

I know Eddie and Cindy said they just wouldn't have time to cover three JKX's. Yes their videos were better but if you watch their progression over time they improved. I hope the videos improve over time as well here. I'll still say I'll miss their narratives and more personal shots than anything else.

I agree. Wayalife made the JKX famous or viral as far as the jeep community goes. Now that nitto has taken over, it seems like it fizzled off....
Which is sad, cause the JKX was supposed to be the epic jeep trip everyone wanted to see.

Lol!! The crews are paid professionals, they should be better already!! Eddie and Cindy are not paid, but more professional than these guys.

I agree, but I've seen this mistake before. When I was trail guiding at Bantam I was asked to take their "professional" crew out. They were totally lost. I had to tell them to get low for a good angle and where the shots would be. I even had to pull their dumb asses in so a tree didn't take their head off. Just because you can run a camera doesn't mean you can produce a good flick. IMO you need someone who understands the hobby a bit more. They have to be able to read where the action will be. Eddie and Cindy are great at this because they are Jeepers...

Of course I don't know if the new crew are Jeepers or not. I just assumed they aren't.

Maybe the vid I saw was something else??? It was "produced" in terms of editing, but it seemed to get the perspective from one rig with a few interviews.

Perhaps there were multiple vid crews at some of these recent JKXs

JK Experience

The word "experience" is in the title. That word means something, and it relates directly to the "personal touch" Eddie and Cindy add to the videos that I referenced in my post above. To experience something, one must feel like they are present in the action. One does not experience by being a spectator, and to me the other videos are just spectator shots.

Absolutely agree with this.
