The Building of Compromise

CB in today. Not sure if we're going to do an external antenna or not. We'll see how this goes.

I have the same cb but I'm thinking for an external antenna...I'm curious to know your feeling

I'll post back tonight. I have the same one on my WJ but with an external antenna. We're going to leave the wife's like this and test it out to see if it works. The one on my WJ has been fine. If her's works with this small antenna, we'll just leave it alone as we won't have 2 vehicles on the trail that often. I'll let you know how it works.

Update on the CB radio. Sorry I didn't post it last night, we forgot to test it. So with the handheld antenna, it seems to transmit and receive very clearly in the driveway. Not sure when we'll get out on the trail to try it, but just an FYI.

Thanks to share your feedback! I don't know the reason but mine isn't working very well, especially in the forest...

You just reminded me. I'm supposed to do that this weekend, too!

I've been putting it off for weeks. Only took 20 minutes, just a problem of the motivation to get out there and do it.

I'm surprised she hasn't asked you to paint the shocks pink yet :cheesy:

She has asked for the coils though. I told her nope unless at some point we put on different springs.

Is there anything more that says to woman "I love you babe" than a man painting her coil springs pink?! Do they have those eyelashes for Jeep headlights like they do Volkswagen beetles?
Your a good man, my gf likes this build.

I was thinking of a Cobra 75 CB, but that Midland has that nice option of being portable.

You reminded me that I will be rotating tires in a month or so and I'm thinking of finally getting jackstands and a bottle or floor jack to make this easier.

They do make eyelashes, I told her no on that one. As far as the tire rotation, if you have a cordless impact or air tools, that also saves a ton of time.

LOL!! You told her no on the eyelashes floored me.
Funny stuff

I purchased a Milwaukee 3/8" cordless impact gun last month but even though it's rates at 210ft lbs it had a hard time pulling off the lugs.
I returned it to Home Depot and think I will get the Milwaukee 1/2" gun.
That will def help with tire rotation and checking my wheel spacers every so often.

For once, I got the wife to do some "real" Jeep work. She wanted the PS Bombshell cover from my old axle, so I saved it and painted it, but told her that she had to help install it. So today she did. Came out pretty good.

Nice, the girly build is looking good!

Thanks. She's loving it as well.

Need to get this beast on the trails!

We hope to do more light trails this summer.

Agreed. It's nice to get her out on the garage garage as well.

Did you use the bolts that came with the PS diff cover? I've wanted to get one for awhile as my stock cover is starting to peel on the bottom, but I keep reading the horror stories of the bolt heads snapping off. The last thing I want to do is drill/re-tap threads into an axle housing...
