 Man, I thought I was done doing shit for a while. Looks like this will be my next mod.

Great write up!

Nice job GC! Real clean looking! My only concern would be theft since it looks like it comes of easy. That being said, I guess it wouldn't take much just to pop it out and lock it under the seat.

Does the mount pop off and on easily?

For me, it's the perfect balance. I wanted it to be rock solid on the trail but easy to remove if I wanted to. This accomplishes just that. Definitely not theft proof, but I park in my garage, work from home, and live in the suburbs of Denver. Odds are very low.

As sipafz mentions, you could pop it off easily and put it under the seat so it's less visible.

I'll make a video tomorrow of me taking the mount completely off so everyone can see what's involved.

I meant pop it off as in take it off if you don't have your iPad with you not steal it. I don't always bring my iPad with me when I'm cruising around town so wasn't sure how quick it was to pull off.

Great work and great write up!

Might be a dumb question but, how do you listen to the radio? I know you can control from the steering wheel but doesn't that get kinda hard guessing what station you're on with just the presets? How about Satellite radio or CD?

Not a dumb question at all. Yes, I control it all from steering wheel. Personally, I don't care what station I'm on; just care what song is currently playing. So I flip thru presets just as I did before.

I've also started figuring out order of inputs. Example: if I'm on FM, I need to press the input select button 4 times to be on the Aux In channel (I.e. the iPad).

Once Pandora does offline listening on the iPad, I also never see myself using radio again.

I agree. Pandora is amazing as this is what I listen to 70% of the time. I also enjoy the SiriusXm when out on a trail and don't have internet connection on my phone to stream pandora. Occasionally I listen to FM or AM talk radio.

Thanks for clearing this up. Seems like something I'd look at once my stereo goes out.

Nice write up! I would love to throw an iPad in my dash but I get caught in the rain with no top, far too often...

Shit - Carrichs coupon expired on 3/31. I just ordered all the pieces. I was looking at Brutes' Alpine system with envy. Its a great system but man, $3500 is a tough nut.

Thanks again for the great write-up! It convinced me to do this.

Edit: Found this on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Tadibrothers...sr=8-8&keywords=iphone+backup+camera+wireless

This would be perfect for guys with EVO carriers. Can also be expanded with a front facing camera.
