My x wife did that in my dads 72 j truck. Got stuck in the mud at her friends house. The neighbors got it in 4 low for her and left. She drove it all the across town in low with the hubs locked. She was in tears when she pulled up to my work.

That's what I did. I cut the bracket bolted it where it needed to be then cut a piece to fill the gap. Tack welded it in p!ace. Then took it apart and welded it together.
