We have a 50s burger drive-through here that has fantastic food. However, they started asking for a minimum of 18% and I believe it goes 20 and then 22%. Of course you have to pay at the beginning so saying “none” is just not an option if you don’t want altered food.

For the most part I just quit going.

That makes sense for individuals.

I wonder about these places where the tips are “pooled” and the person providing service never sees the charges. Hopefully people still have integrity.

Sorry, but that is asinine. If I was considering becoming your client and you uttered something even close to that, I’d be out the door. And if you tried to hire me as your attorney to sue for your fictitious “damages”, I’d quickly show you my own door.

No, it’s not if they don’t disclose a mandatory additional charge on the front end. Usually they include a “kitchen fee” or some other bullshit on the bill itself.
