The same practices are used in Arizona (and elsewhere) at National Forest Service Stage 3 Fire Restriction level. This happened at least once in the past 8 years for our area.
Given that much of Canada is currently on fire, and that many/most fires are caused by humans, it makes sense to keep people out of the forest when it is tinder dry.
A number of eastern states are suffering right now due to the smoke from Canada.

I totally disagree! We should be trying to make China as dependent as possible on our IP, just as we are already highly dependent on their cheap labor and products. With the interdependence, significant war is highly unlikely to occur.
It would be great if we could sell a version of the F-35 to China. The key thing is to assure that the components cannot be reverse engineered and duplicated.
China will turn to adversaries such as Russia if we don't step up and make them dependent on us first.
