Got everything buttoned up today and went for a test drive. Jeep ran great on the highway towards the end it was having trouble stalling out coming to a stop. I'll rebuild the carb next. I went ahead and rebuilt the carb tonight. It didn't look too bad but one of the screens for the needle and seat was clogged as you can see from the picture. I'll have to test it out tomorrow after work. IMG_4056.jpgIMG_4057.jpgIMG_4059.jpg

Finally got around to picking up the other FrankenWillys. It's my brothers and we have some work to do. It has a D44 from a Scout so the caster is off and the jeep wanders all over the road. Typical problem with axle swaps from Scouts. IMG_4290.jpg

After a seven hour drive we finally made it home. IMG_4296.jpg
My time is limited because I have a six month deployment coming up so I went ahead and got to work. IMG_4297.jpg
In about an hour I had the axle pulled and in the back of Klungly's truck. Time for a little surgery. IMG_4298.jpg

Cool. Years ago I had a '63 Willys Wagon similar to yours. The last year before they went to the Wagoneer. Mine was yellow with root beer brown inserts. Original color was a metallic teal, fitting for 1963 I guess. Somewhere along the way an AMC 304 V8 and TH400 tranny were swapped in, which I rebuilt. I drove it from Cali to Boston and back. Got a lot of attention along the way. Good times. Have fun with yours!

Just found your thread, I love it. Lots of great stuff in here. As one who enjoys classics, I can say you have two of the best representing. I'm not a purist so the franken-parts are pretty cool because they are functional and, maybe (hopefully) a little more reliable.

Removed the shock mounts, the welds were pretty nasty.
