How difficult is that trail? Thanks

I have not been. I'm told there is a lot of rock climbing but bypasses for most, if not all, of the big stuff.

There is some info on this trail at http://www.experience-az.com/adventures/4wd/juniperflat/juniperflatprint.html Scroll down to the bottom of the page. That might be a little dated from what I'm told.

I'll check with my co-worker for more details.

You can also search Upper Mansfield and Lower Mansfield on YouTube. There are a couple videos posted.

So, depending on who I ask...

Some say "have one working locker" some say "lockers optional".

Off road tires, 4wd and some ground clearance and/or skids is the common, minimum requirements I've been told.

It sounds like if you try some of the harder obstacles, the lockers would be helpful and potential body damage beyond pinstripes.

I agree! I hope to know my work schedule for certain in the next few days. I've been wanting to run this one for a year.

Thanks for the info. My main concern is I'm not running sliders yet but I'm also still on 32's and no lockers (just LSD in rear).

I'm currently saving for wheels and tires (35's) and the hope is to do that, re-gear, and lock the rear in the Spring. We'll see what funds look like.

I'd like to join you guys and I'm not working that weekend. do you know where you will meet up? Just wanted to see how far it is from my place in South Chandler. Thanks.

My Jeep is open/LSD and one other is the same. One guy may bring his XJ that's open/open. There is one JKUR that may join us too. None of us expect to beat our rigs to death. All of us want to have a good time and try our best on the trail. Low pressure and good attitudes would be the theme.

Anyway, if you look up Sonoita, AZ, that would be a good place to meet anyone coming from north of there. As I understand, it's the closest place to the trail to gas up.

Thinking we need to get a large group of keeps from AZ together for a run soon! I'm in flagstaff I know there's at least one or two others up here along with all the guys in phx and Tucson. Would there be much interest? If so let's plan out a time and trail!

I didn't read through the whole thread yet but I am definitely down for this, I'm stationed in Yuma, my wife and I have a few jeeps and we do a lot of trails with Yuma groups but it would be nice to mix it up and meet some WOL crew!

Yep, All-Jeep, and all friends of Jeep. Just a bunch of people taking over the parking lot.
There is a facebook page event group somewhere, but i can't access it right now.
Hey Fry. I had all intentions of making an appearance and completely forgot about it. Can you let me know next time there is a get together?

When I first got my jeep I think I hit pretty much every thing out there except Willow. As of then (late 2011) not much for obstacles, mostly just dirt roads that see some occasional maintenance, a few spots might need 4wd... maybe. There are some nice areas, and some great views to be had. I haven't run Willow, it looks like a little gnarly in spots from pics I've seen. All entrances are gated, the code is available from the FS, I just stopped by the Mesa office on the way out. Or check here, http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/tonto/recreation/ohv/?cid=stelprdb5348179

Sounds good to me! I forgot my son's birthday is the day after so it may take a little convincing. But I tentatively plan on it.

I may be doing a run the Day after thanksgiving. I'd prefer to do crown king or turkey creek

I'd be interested in joining you. I was actually thinking about Crown King that day as well as I haven't ran it since I first got my Jeep last year. But I want to check out Turkey Creek Too.

Sounds good. My schedule is good to go for this. I'm still waiting on a few more locally to confirm.
