Little behind the curve since moving up to a JKU in May. Rig now has new 38" Mickies and this issue as well as beefed up axles etc has my list of growing upgrades. Thread assisted me greatly with my knowledge and what to look for in my purchase, thank you.

Anyone running one with 40's without a ram in the rocks....Rubicon type trails?

I have that setup, I have run it on the rocks and you can turn the wheels in a lot of situations but you do come in some situations where even tho it turns it is a little firm. In my buddies Jeep with the ram assist it is easy in those spots where I had a difficult time obviously. But for the price difference And the feel of my steering I am happy.

If you choose to do it make sure you have a beefy drag link. I watched someone bend 2 drag links running that box with 40s. It has so much power. Hydro assist is really a better option when you get up into 40s as you split the load between the drag link and the tie rod. It can be done you just need to be smart about it.
