GP NOIR

Hooked
Due to Minerva not eating all weekend, SWAMBO took our new pup to see the vet. Minerva has Parvo. Fortunately, we caught it in its early stages. Vet gave Minerva an anti nausea shot and told us to give her chicken broth/Pedialite to keep her hydrated. Said her chances of recovering are 80%. SWAMBO is understandably stressed.

I’m starting to think the folks we got Minerva from are a bit shady. No matter. Minerva is part of the family and we’re in this to the finish.

You can judge the quality of a civilization based on how well they take care of their pets and elderly. Good work GP NOIR!

First, good news! Our new puppy Minerva is well on the way to recovery! She’s eating us out of house and home and is full of energy. Still under quarantine, however. Now, on to Jeep business.

Drove out to Tuttle Creek, Kansas

to meet up with my brothers. My youngest brother lives in Kansas and Tuttle Creek is less than an hour from his home. He guided us to from steps to hill climbs to rock gardens and, of course, mud pits.

Tuttle Creek isn’t like anything we have in Utah. Places such as Moab have slick rock with good traction. At Tuttle Creek, traction is a mythical beast from an old folk tale, turning even small obstacles into big challenges and that’s when it’s dry. Rain cranks it up to 11!

Negotiating Tuttle Creek requires a different driving technique and running the trails was like being a beginner all over again.

It was a good experience and we plan to return soon- as soon as tomorrow morning, in fact!

Then it’ll be time to return home once again.
