I see, I really thought a TOB sound would go away with an engaged clutch. Thanks
The fluid didn't seem too bad, especially for 11yo fluid with 99k on it. The plug magnet was pretty loaded, but the...

Thanks for the replies, guys!
As for the first noise being a throw out bearing, I thought that kind of sound would occur when the clutch is depressed, but be silent when the clutch is engaged. In my...
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rv9Tr6USqsUJust randomly came across this video. It shows how to put that stuff in, easily.
They did figure it out.... That's why they put drain plugs in 😆
I've had the same thing with my 08 JKUX, but in the front doors. Even going through a car wash I've felt water hitting my leg. Last winter I put in weathertech footwell liners, and now when we get...

Hey all
I need some help. I'm not much good on transmissions, so of course that's my newest noise...
I've heard the first noise for quite a while (3 years or so), but assumed it was a "normal...
Haha yeah, but that's always my problem - mission creep. I go under to fix one thing, and come out buying parts for ten other issues lhaha
I had the right of way on a right hand turn, when some idiot came flying in on a left turn in front of me. I slammed on the brakes, and barely missed him. Since we didn't hit, I kept driving. A mile...
I looked up the requirements to change out the valve. It seemed basic enough to do. But a couple weeks ago, the code cleared on it's own. So, for now, I'm just letting go. I haven't noticed any...
Haha ok, good to know. I'll let this go to the back burner of things to fix... I have plenty of others to tackle. Thanks for the help
I knew I was doing something wrong! :banghead:
Good to know. Thanks.... Unless I flip over, explode, and die... That would really ruin the weekend...
Thanks guys. I haven't done any off roading in about a year, so I'm guessing it just went out over time. If the stabilizer isn't too essential, I'm assuming a repair can wait a while?
So I went to change out my front differential oil, and notices this on my steering dampener. It looks to me like there is fluid/oil coming out of the piston. I suppose it could be something else...
Perhaps a tire rotation, if it's near time. Also, I like to clean the rubber door and roof seals, to get dust and dirt off which can cause leaks and noise.
Oh.... And blinker fluid!:cheesy:
As I've mentioned in other threads, I've had a similar rattling sound for several years. A dealership tracked it down to broken teeth in the rear differential spider gears. They supposedly fixed it,...
Ok, good to hear. Just didn't want to make a costly mistake on my first gear oil change.
Wow looking awesome! Great work!
Castrol is the worst? Aw man... I just put it in my read dif, and was going to put the rest in the front... Is it really that bad?
Or this one...
In a heart beat!
Yeah, I was afraid I made an expensive mistake, trying it on my own haha

Eh just take em off for good... Makes city driving more exciting! :wings:
But if that's not your particular kettle of fish... Perhaps try spraying a little wd40 on the ends? I don't think that...
Well I've had to use it, since it's my only vehicle. But yesterday, I took it for another short test, and the shudder was gone. It hasn't returned since, so I'm guessing the gears just needed to get...
Yikes... But you can't beat free repairs! Hahah
