I've always used a schrader valve tool and kept extra valve cores in the glove box. You can usually find them for a dollar or two.

That didn't even occur to me! :clap2: It's still ridiculous and hilarious, but at least they may have accomplished some functionality; as long as it can get up to a speed that makes it useful....
With no tailgate and at head level... genius LOL :cheesy:
Great camping rig still for sale, just in time for sasquatch hunting season...

I replaced mine (that was shifting fine) with Mopar manual transmission fluid about 20k miles ago. It is kinda expensive, but I figure "don't fix it if it ain't broke". It's still doing fine at...

Thanks! Hopefully she'll go to a good home.
Yeah I know, it feels kinda like giving a pet away. The wife just bought a brand new 4Runner TRD Pro, so we'll barely use Jan anymore. The TRD is pretty great though, so it's kind of a bitter sweet.
Sad to see her go, but she won't be needed any longer.

Enjoy the journey!
Thought I'd post a little update. She's been having some trouble with the suspension feeling/sounding loose. It started around the time I installed the control arms so I called Core4x4. Turns out...
I started down this rabbit hole a while back. I finally ended up just doing a complete flush and putting in Zerex (G-05?) for peace of mind.
Congrats! That'll be nice!
Transmission blew up; finally got it fixed now. I just need to actually take her out on some trails before something breaks again LOL
Thanks! Me too.
Definitely could have been much worse.
Jan is back on the streets! Total repair cost ended up being $900.
