    Leaking axle seals again

Being in the machine building and repair business, we see a lot of that. I suggest you find a local industrial chrome plater. Many have grinding capabilities or partner with a shop that’s close by. They will grind the seal contact area, chrome it up and re-grind back to size. Going directly to...

What was done to your rig this week?

Looks good! I did the same a few years ago: Time to chop the ends!

Can’t break my caliper bolts loose

Not a great idea to hit your “wratchet” with a BFH. Glad to hear that your Snap On is holding up but, just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

Can’t break my caliper bolts loose

I’m not a metallurgist, but I think it would be fine. Aluminum expands faster than steel so less heat would be needed. I think just getting the loctite uncured would do the trick.

Can’t break my caliper bolts loose

Heat will help. The bolts have loctite on them. Try to heat the area where the threads are to melt the cured loctite and expand the threaded hole.

    Oscar's No Build Thread

Spent the day at Embarrass River ATV Park, which is Wisconsins only off-road park and recently open to some road legal vehicles (no full size trucks or tires larger than 37”) thanks to a local 4x4 club. Had a great time exploring the 500 acres; found a little mud and some rocks to play on. It’s...

Current Thoughts: Best Programmer for JK?

JScan will do everything listed for less than $50 cost if you have a JK, JKU or many pre 2018 FCA vehicles. JL, JLU & JT requires a security bypass cable which will double the cost or more depending on how savvy your shopping skills are. The down side to JScan is there is no documentation or...

Mild A/T tires for an old Honda Pilot?

We have the Cooper Discoverer AT3-4S on one of the Liberty’s and have been really happy with them. It’s been 2.5 years / 25k and they still look new and have barely worn. I paid $650 all in and at the time got a $70 rebate. I would buy them again! Actual pics:

When the hype settles, I hope they offer the JT/V8 with increased towing capacity. I still want to pull a 25’ to 27’ Airstream at 7,600#:
