    Another cause of Death wobble

Chili, Thanks for the suggestion and picture. That mount looks very stout. Here is a picture of the stock mount right after I separated it from the RK mount. I'll need to clean it up, but I won't need to straighten it out much before I weld it back on. I guess I lucked out in that way.

    Another cause of Death wobble

The track bar bracket (OEM and RK) has been completed ripped off the axle. Here are a few pictures: Since the OEM bracket is completely sheared off. I see three options: 1) Weld the OEM and RK composite bracket back on with better welds done by a professional. 2) Grind off the RK...

    Another cause of Death wobble

Here is the first real failure I've had with my rig since installing my lift. I've taken it on several moderate trails and daily driving around the NE and this is what happened this morning on the way to work. I think it actually started the crack in (my obvious sub-par weld job) two days ago...

    DIY Removable Mud Guards

I finally got some free time to finished the rear set. I bolted the brackets on using the hardware for my rear bumpers, certainly overkill but they'll work just fine. Here's a few pics: With the mud flaps installed: Seemed to have come out alright. I'm going to run them for a...

    Kill it With Fire

I think some of these extras are stock on this otherwise fine JKU. I should have taken this picture from the side so that the side marker light protection, the huge side decals could be seen and other eye catching add-ons.

    Minoot trailers - thoughts?

I'm looking for a configurable trailer for off-roading / camping trips and heard about a Minoot trailer a friend of mine who just purchased one. He's in CO so I won't be able to check it out when he gets it. I looked at their website, they seem to have some nice options, but I'm looking to see...

    Brake caliper seizing/sticking?

Jeeep this update is for you. I had a few minutes to remove the piston from the caliper, not rebuild it though. I used air from my onboard compressor to force the piston out of the caliper. I used a hockey puck to prevent the piston from becoming a projectile. Piston "popped" out. Here...

    DIY Removable Mud Guards

Had an hour to work on this today so I got the mud flaps mounted onto the rails. Here's everything now that the paint has cured. I double checked everything (measuring twice or three times then cut/drill). I cut them using a pair of gasket shears and also a box cutter with a new blade. I...

    Brake caliper seizing/sticking?

Thanks for the replies guys. I followed the guidance that Collin from Dynatrac gave me. Based on the procedures he gave me, I was able to determine the rotor wasn't warped or gouged so that I could re-use it. I was also able to remove the glazing on the pads so I could re-use them too...

    Brake caliper seizing/sticking?

I got great technical assistance from Collin at Dynatrac tonight. I have a few things to look at tomorrow when I get the Jeep back in the garage. It's sitting outside right now because I didn't drive today. Luckily the kids had school cancelled due to the latest snow storm so I took my wife...

    DIY Removable Mud Guards

Got the brackets, rails and associated hardware painted. Here they are with the topcoat. I decided to use the "Hammered" look paint that I thought was black, but it seems more of a dark gray. We'll see how it comes out. Once everything cures I'll install everything. Almost done. On a...

    Brake caliper seizing/sticking?

I installed the Dynatrac ProGrip brake kit a few weeks ago. The kit has been working great since I installed it and I was able to bed the pads a few days ago. Over the time that I've had it installed I've noticed an odor coming from the forward passenger's side wheel. I figured it was just...

    DIY Removable Mud Guards

Got some time tonight to clean up the beakers and the rails as best I could with a bench grinder and my grinding wheel. Would be nicer if I used the mini grinding wheel on the dremel, but I don't have that much time. Everything fits together as they should and they're ready for paint...

Dynatrac ProGRIP Jeep JK Wrangler Front & Rear Brake System

I've been running the kit now for about 150 miles. I posted some install pictures in the original SEMA thread that was started for this kit. Here's the comparison pictures: Front brakes Rear brakes I'm still bedding them in but the feel is night and day over the OEM (which were in...

    show your jeep in snow

These aren't off-roading but pretty close. I gave a guy a hand getting his Audi back on the road. Got a little help from a plow after the first couple of pulls. You can see the snow bank had been plowed. The driver gave me a hand re-hooking up the tow strap after the plow left Here he is...

    DIY Removable Mud Guards

Got some more work done over the past couple of days. Here are a few pics of the progress. Here's one after I ground the brackets and one of the rails. I was hoping to finish the grinding, but the cold outside got the best of me. 20 degrees isn't fun to grind outside. So I called it...

PACIFIC NORTHWEST: The 2014 JK-Experience [4 Part Series]

Another great video! That bypass around the pit looked like a higher level obstacle/trail at most ORV parks I've been to.

    DIY Removable Mud Guards

Thanks for the feedback guys. I thought that picture was of the Teraflex Kit. Either way, I'd rather make it myself. If it turns out crappy, then I'll still share it to give everyone a laugh. In retrospect it would have been easier to use the angle grinder...oh well the hack saw worked. I...

2014 SEMA Dynatrac ProGRIP Jeep JK Wrangler Front & Rear Brake System

Just finished the install. No other problems with the kit. Just some squealing from the parking brakes pads (not part of the kit) because I must have tightened them too much or my parking didn't fully release. Either way, I'll look at it tomorrow. Here are a few pictures of the aft brakes...

2014 SEMA Dynatrac ProGRIP Jeep JK Wrangler Front & Rear Brake System

Install has begun: Comparison of stock vice ProGrip: Installed: Stock Rubicon rims with 1.5" spacer clearance pic: I only ran into one issue. There was some debris in the first brackets slide pin posts. I cleaned it out with a scratch awl (careful not to gouge the internal sides) and I...
