What was done to your rig this week?

The ground on the other side of the curb dropped off quite a lot so when the tire went over it, the lower shock mount is what made contact. Luckily the curb was not damaged. It gets really dark in the country. I piled up rocks on the other side of the curb so if I turn too sharp again, this...

    Steeper descents dangerous behavior

My dash display looks similar to yours. I expect that the "free spooling" happens when the transmission changes to higher gears. Since I have enabled showing the current gear (something you should do), if I was paying attention I would likely notice that the transmission has changed gears...

    Steeper descents dangerous behavior

Not related to hill descent control (because it's not enabled), but when I go down a long hill and am enjoying some engine braking to control descent rate, after a short while it is as if the transmission suddenly goes "free spooling" and the Jeep suddenly accelerates down hill due to gravity...

    Front Passenger Wheel well?

Since it is apparently a safety feature there may be liability if you remove it (similar to seat belts). Or it may fail an inspection.

What was done to your rig this week?

Maybe the skids will work. Once I caused "trail damage" to a rental Jeep in my own driveway (drove over a tall curb in the dark). The part damaged is what this skid is protecting.

    Kill it With Fire

The unsprung weight ratio is not so great, but it is not likely to flip when taking corners due to it's wide stance, and 3 degrees maximum steering angle.

Is This the NEW JEEP TREND?

There must be a lot of off-roaders there. I would guess that 95% of JL Wranglers in Dallas have never driven on a dirt road at all!

    Tire DIAMETER > WEIGHT

When I updated to 35s, I found that I needed to recalibrate my foot when applying the brake. My first few stops were unexpectedly long. More braking pressure was required. 37s would have required more re training. It seems that Kevman an advocate for skinny, lighter tires. 😄

Someone just tried to assassinate Trump

The drummed up excitement about Epstein is designed to provide cover for those unidentified flying objects that most us are still certain are not "drones". This is one of the best planned bait and switches in history!

Why Jeep May Never be Great Again

Stelantis doors not have much share of the US EV market. If they offer an EV I am not sure if I have ever seen one on the road. But in major urban areas there are a lot of EVs on the road. Many people do not leave the major urban area where they live, except by air. EVs work well for a portion...

Why Jeep May Never be Great Again

The EV saleable in California can also be sold in other states. Many people are intentionally buying EVs and they may be a good match for their daily usage model. A Wrangler type vehicle does not work well in the form of an EV given how they are often used.

Why Jeep May Never be Great Again

I don't see any reason that Stelantis can't just sell EV-only (or hydrogen if they have it) models in California while continuing to sell gas models in the rest of the world. California is big but not that big.
