Air Compressors - On Board or Not

It’s become obvious the ARB compressor mounted under the hood gets REALLY hot. I mean hot enough to burn your fingers through leather gloves hot. That’s before the compressor is started! The under hood heat from running off-roading gets the compressor cases and air fittings painfully hot. The...

Because if a there was only a single pant to cover your legs, they’d call it a skirt. Unless you’re a man. Then they’d call it a kilt.

Where did your Jeep take You this Week?

More West Mountain shenanigans. While playing in the deep ruts running along the trail, both axles got hung up and all four tires were in the air. This is the first time I’ve gotten Gypsy stuck well enough I couldn’t just drive out. A bit of lift with the bottle jack and some shoveling freed her...

    2016 Jeep Wrangler (3.6L) - Cylinder 6 Misfire P0306

I dug the rest out with a pair of needle nosed pliers. It was a minor annoyance. Had to blow all the crapola out with compressed air before removing the spark plug The coils I bought had no grease. So I used a bit of dielectric grease with each one.

    2016 Jeep Wrangler (3.6L) - Cylinder 6 Misfire P0306

My 2012 with 132,000 miles on it recently had a #4 misfire code. The problem was caused by a bad ignition coil. I replaced all 6 coils and spark plugs and the engine runs like a dream. Removing and reinstalling the intake turned out to be easy and straight forward. Spark plug holes are deep and...
