    Random Willys of the day

I posted this one up in the "Cool Jeeps you've parked by" last year some time, but seems appropriate for this thread.

    Dogs in Moab

We took our dogs to Moab and on the trails with us. They stayed in the Jeeps with us and we let them out when we stopped. We didn't ask anyone if it was ok, and nobody protested. We did clean up after them, just like you are supposed to clean up after yourself or use wag bags while you are out...

    Rubicon Swaybar disconnect weak link?

My sway bar disconnect stopped working this weekend just as my wife and I hit the trail. Flashing light, sway bar not disconnecting, and light still flashing long after the trip was done. I ask if it is a weak link because my wife's JKR just went in to the shop a few weeks ago at 18k miles to...

    Show off your tents

My wife and I have a Coleman 6 person instant tent. It's the perfect size for both of us, our two border collies and our gear. Pros: It goes up extremely quick. Fits cross wise in the back of a JKUR (haven't tried to fit it in her JKR) I can stand up fully in it (I'm 6'0") Fits a queen size...

    Moab for a full day?

My wife and I are taking a road trip to Tucson, AZ. Visiting family along the way. We were thinking about spending a day in Moab on the way back. If you were spending a full day there and had a pair of stock Rubicons (one 2 door, one 4 door) what trail or trails would you do? Best view? Best...

    HAPPY Fathers Day!!

All of our kids are off making lives for themselves, so other than a phone call, it was shaping up to be a quiet day. That is until our niece needed a sitter on short notice. Since she calls us "My fun aunt and uncle" , who were we to turn down the chance to live up to the title. We brought...

    Uneven brake wear

I just replaced all the brake pads because I could hear the squealer. But the wear from front to back was extremely uneven. In my experience, the front usually wear out first. But in this case, the front are almost new condition, while the rear wear almost worn to nothing. The front is not...

Lots of cool rigs at the Moonshiner's 4x4 swap meet today. But I think this one was my favorite. Now that's a winch!

ROADSIDE AMERICA : Awesome Roadside Stops Along the Way!

And another from Central Washington. Wild Horse Wind Facility. On the West side of the Columbia River along Interstate 90 you can go up and tour the Windmill Farm which is named after the Wild Horse monument on the east side of the river. It's hard to understand how large these windmills are...

JEEP TRAIL OFFROAD GPS: What GPS is everyone running?

I have both Trimble GPS and Gaia GPS. Gaia GPS hands down is the winner. Just be sure to have all your maps cached before hand in either case. Though both aps have crashed on my on longer trips. Gaia seems to crash more when it is set to have direction of travel as up instead of north is up. I...

I'd say this is more addiction than way of life...

2014 Grand Cherokee Limited. Certainly not as tough as previous generations of Cherokees, but it sure is comfy. 20mpg still has 4lo. Finally had enough of the $1k visits to the shop for the bmw every couple of months.
