Ramp 2013 JKUR Build Thread

With the 1 year anniversary of the purchase of my JK Ithought it was time to start a build thread. I'm a 37 year old father of 2 so the build will be progressing slowly as money always gets allocated else where.
I first test drove it with 3 miles on the odometer and knew I was going to buy it before I even got back to the dealer. That day we put 12 miles on it and I took delivery with 15 miles total. This is the first pic I took of the Jeep the night I drove it home, still at the dealer. It had more options that I wanted. Pretty much ALL of them except for the remote start which is not available for a 6 speed. Including both tops, nav, and heated leather. Drove home 12-12-2012

And here's how it sits today.

The first mod I did was Spidertrax 1.5" wheel spacers. I planned on installing 35's on the stock tires and these were necessary. Here's a before and after. That was 3-12-2013

Three days later I installed a Teraflex Budget Boost. Wayalife write up helped with this.
3-15-2013 Before and after

Immediatly following that was a Cobra 75WXST CB radio. I liked the lack of space it took up and, along with a versa mount II, was put in the perfect position.

Around the same time I got a great deal on a set of 285/70/R17 BFG Mud Terrains so on they went. Before and after.

Along the way I plasti dipped the front grill and replaced the Chrome sword of an antenna with a stubby one. After that I started with side protection and steps for the kids in the way of Ace engineering Side Rails. For me they work great and can be removed easily if the build goes a different way. It's not a permamod.

And rounding out the first year is a VDP stubby bumper mod. As of right now I'll be keeping the stock bumper and this was a no-brainer.

All builds that take a long time will change as products are reviewed and considered but as of today the next mods I'd like to concentrate on are Evo Skids and Gussets, and some form of On Board Air.
In the end the lift will be an ORE Double D long arm kit and I will be on 35's. As well as a warn winch. Weather its a Z series or not is also on the table.
Rear bumper/tire carrier to be determined.

Finally on 35's. Found an incredible deal for all 5 with only 6k miles on them. They're Goodyear MTR's on Procomp wheels. Now the bumper/tire carrier research begins. Along with a WOL fender chop session.
Check out the for sale section for the take offs.

Started the fender chop today. Got the fronts done. What are people using for led blinkers?

I'm not running any side marker lights right now, and probably won't. I'm living in Commiefornia and haven't had any issues...and they ticket you for breathing the tree's air too heavily while jogging here.

Got around to cutting the rears and the pinch seam/Rubi rails. I'm gonna round off the edge and paint the wells. What are you using for paint? Anyone use bed liner?

Just arrived today. Amazed at the ease of operation. Anyone else get depressed when they actually measured their "35's" lol
