I'm assuming it's OAT since that's what it should've come with from the factory and I haven't noticed any issues (it either hasn't been topped off or it has been with the correct stuff). Outside of color there's no way for me to know if it had previously been flushed and incorrectly filled with HOAT, though.

Might just have to consider a full flush to be completely sure.

I've never tried it but I wonder if you could mix some of oat that you purchase with a small sample from your reservoir to see if it reacts. Otherwise I'd probably do what you suggest to be on the safe side and do a full flush since it's realtivley easy.

I think it takes a long time to react but I'm not sure. And yeah just need to start searching for the steps to complete a full flush. I'd imagine there's a video out there somewhere.

About us
“wayoflife” is a moniker that I’ve been using for 20 years now and I chose it because I think it does a great job of explaining, in simple terms, the passion I have for Jeeps and the Jeep way of life. This is a lifestyle that transcends age, gender and race as the only thing you need to be a part of it is a love for the outdoors, a desire to explore, a yearning to take on a challenge and a will to conquer it. Over the years, Cindy and I have attempted to capture the essence of this lifestyle through photographs and videos and share it with others around the world. And, this is how WAYALIFE was born.
