33" tires with a 3.73 gear ratio

Is anyone out there running 33"s on an LJ with the stock 3.73 gearing, and if so how much power do you loss compared to running 31" tires?

I do on my tj. Its semi heavy with a winch armor and steel front and rear bumpers. Probably close to what an lj weighs. I can still use 5th gear on the highway. On the trail I wish I had 4.56s though. It is liveable with the 3.73s in 4 low

The jk sport comes stock with 3.73' and 255/75r17 which comes out to about a 32 and its just fine. But it's a different engine so everything i just said may not even matter.

And JK's also come with 3.21's as well. :thumb:

3.21's are standard. Certain packages come with 3.73's.

Hmm mine was just a sport. Oh well in 2012 everything changed didn't it?

Mine is a sport as well. I'll have to dig out the window sticker but it has some package that adds them. And mine is a base model, I don't even have AC.

HAH! I have AC in mine but hardly ever use it since my Jeep overheats when I turn it on. Fins are full of mud :doh: oh well its easier to pull the doors and windows and leave the top for shade and cool off that way.
