Wave from SF!

Hey,

A big wave from SF! I moved out here from Connecticut last August and just brought the Jeep (red 2 door JK 2012) out this winter. It belongs out here! I've gone off roading 4 times - 3 Jeep Jamborees (one in my dad's 4 door 2010 JK) both in the Catskills and in Penn's Woods and once to Rausch Creek with a CT jeep club. I love off roading and wish I could go more often, but I'm currently in Grad school... so only cheap mods and days with the top and doors off are it until the loans are paid!! My Jeep is "stock" - only skidplates, rock rails and a shortened front bumper, but on the trail many are impressed by what the JK can do stock!

I've been an occasional reader and watcher for a while now, but joined to be an active member for advice on a door project that I'm working on. I plan on building wooden half doors - I picked up some Rugged Ridge latches -http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IA7N0I/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - and will make the hinges myself.

I've found tube/metal door diy threads but never any wooden door diys. I plan on buying upper half doors http://www.quadratec.com/products/55011_5015_07.htm to fit into them too (when I have some extra cash)- that is where I need help with fitting. Do any of you have them? I just need measurements so I can build the bottoms around them.

Any help would be much appreciated -- and I can start a thread if you guys are interested in seeing the progress!

-- Austin (who's jeep will eventually earn the name Leadbelly!)

Hello. A little over an hours drive south is Hollister Hills. A few hours North East is the Rubicon. Hiking, biking, skiing, surfing, climbing, hang gliding are a day trip journey. Go to the Mission District for Burritos. Japanese, Korean,Thai, Indian food, you name it, is everywhere.
