Is a 265/70R17 MT tyre worth it on a JKU Rubicon?
Will it look funny, will it perform almost as well as a 285/70R17?

265/70R17 - Falkon R405 = R2200 ($180) per tyre
285/70R17 - Federal Couragia = R3075 ($250) per tyre

My work might get me new tyres because for 3 days someone has been putting a screw behind my front tyres, ever since my "Promotion"
We "know" who it is, but our outside CCTV is just out of view.
Now Ive patch the tyres, but too many holes are becoming a concern.

This same individual has stolen sunglasses from another employee here and also equipment from the office. (He is a troubled chap)

I have put the 245/75R17 back on for safety but they just look wrong and my gearbox doesnt like them, changes gears at odd rpm's and just doesnt drive like it did with 255/75R17's

I have 285's and can't complain, well except for maybe I should've done 35's as for odd gear changes, if, it's an auto, may I recommend you get a procal to solve your issues...

So that it's clear, a 265/70R17 will have a similar size to a 33x12.50R17 (a true measurement of about 31") and a 285/70R17 will be just shy of a 35x12.50R17 (will be almost 33" in actual height). With a much larger tire, you will feel power loss unless you regear.
