Hi all, this is Beth and this is how she looked like when I bought her back in Dec 2013. she is a '14 model JKU. Bought her with the Mopar lift and and AM wheels & tires. For the price I paid for her with the dealer added accessories, I should have gotten a Rubi.

On Xmas day, I decide to take her out to a local off hwy dirt road in the Trabuco Canyons. I say off hwy because I've seen Priuses and Honda Civic's back here.

I started looking through other forums (at this point, I have not heard of Wayalife yet) and found a set of Rubi rails. Made arrangements with the seller and made the transaction. He then told me about this website and I signed up the day after. For some reason, I enjoy working on my Jeep at night after work. Off with the old, on with the new to me.

About a week later, I wanted to get more lights. Decided to go with the Cree duallys and mount them on the windshield. Ths was my 1st light install and it took a very long time to figure out the wiring diagram. I even added an extra switch for future lights. And I mounted them crooked.

So back to combing through the sales ads on this forum, I came across an old soft top that was for sale. I was so embarrass to offer him what I wanted to pay but he was cool with it. He even let me install the soft top on his driveway. This is by far my favorite mod. The softtop actually came with clear windows. I used static cling tint and tint them. It doesn't look great but I'm not entering this Jeep to SEMA.

Memorial weekend of 2014, I decided today is the day I am going to trim my fenders and I did just that. I also got my windshield decal put on. After trimming the fenders I kept telling myself I liked it but because of how small my tires were, the trim fenders does not look good with the tires setup I have.

Summer of 2014 was approaching and I thought it is time to get some recovery tools so I can go explore our local mountains. I bought the Dominican hi-lift mount and a Cobra 29 CB from Amazon. I had to mickey mouse the CB mount so it wouldn't vibrate lose.

I started looking into bumpers and luckily someone on here brought the company Crawler Conceptz up on one of the thread. So I started researching the company and found out they were l not too far from where I live. The price was right and look was good, it fitted the bill so I decided to get it. When I got it, I tried painting it myself with a rattle can. It did not come out well. Hideous to say the least! But I was proud to say I tried, and this was my work.

Coming home from a Suds, I took my windshield banner off. There were so many beautiful Jeeps I didn't feel comfortable waving the flag. (self esteem issue)

IMG_0021.jpg

I put on a winch, an M800 to cover my bad painting skill. But the more I see it the more I like it. The paint job that is. Hey another late night install job!

20140731_073452227_iOS.jpg

Not long after, I was itching to run the Wayalife banner again. I ended up buying 4 more sets. This is what I did with the colors I bought. Unfortunately it did not last long again.

For my last mod of 2014, Northridge4x4 was running a few deals for Black Friday. I took advantage of the Protek skids.

20141213_215400145_iOS.jpg

Good bye 2014, hello 2015

And for my 1st mod of 2015. Again this was against a lot of advise but I purchased a 50" light bar. I ended up taking it off by the end of the week and gave it to my friend for his bday. Talk about wind noise!

20150122_061622849_iOS.jpg

After removing the 50" sails I change my windsheild mounts and added dual duallys

At the last Suds, I saw a beautiful white Rubicon with Concept Crawlerz bumpers on it. It was enough to make me call CC and get my rear bumper. I had a new bumper on by the following Monday.

So far my last mod was back on the 18th of March. I was about to re-trim my fenders but instead I ran across a sales ad on CL for 4 sets of take off fenders. I quickly jumped on that deal and like everything else I had it on that same night.

Not installed yet but I have an Arb locker on the way. As soon as it get here, I will make my apt at ORE to have the Locker put on, Gears redone to 4.88 and the C's welded on.

Other items I did on my Jeep

- Replaced all my speakers with Alpine SPR-60's with PDX-M5 amp. I took this out of my old truck when I traded it in.

- Add Viper 5706 with Smart Start and Zone Intrusion sensor. OK this item has been nothing but a PITA! My alarm chirps all day and night no matter how much adjusting I do to it. After owning it for 7-8 months I realize it was the location where I put it was the issue. After relocating the sensor 3 more times I finally found a place where this thing would work properly.

That's all for now and actually for awhile. I am contempt with what I have until I need new tires.
Thanks for reading

Good lookin build. I thought you were in Australia for a minute because of the upside down pics. Keep up the good work. I also enjoy the late night after work wrenching.

Love the honesty in your narration ( and love the jeep ) great to hear someone say " I did this... And didn't like it". Then figure out what you want and change or fix it! Good on you. There are way to many people who say theirs is the best just so they feel better about it.

Again though.. Great looking jeep build you have going and I'm totally in envy of anyone who live close to ORE and can use them.

Thx everyone, I really appreciate the comments.

I stopped by ORE This morning to make my appointment then I saw a sign that said by appt only on Saturday. As I was leaving I saw the door open so decided to poke my head in and sure enough Mel was behind the front desk. He started talking about not 1 but 3 JKX this year and they are getting ready for it. It's going to be in the South Eastern states. Any ways wow! I do hope they find a good narrator for their videos though. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1428773490.806733.jpg

Did you go in the back and look at any jeeps? Mine is in there somewhere! Drew said maybe in about a week it will be done. I can't wait for the DTD!
Mel is a great guy and very approachable. Along with everyone at ORE! 👍

I enjoyed reading this and looking forward to where he build goes! There's a lot of us in the OC and Holy Jim is right by my house.

It's been so long since I've been anywhere in the Jeep that some of those fire roads in the canyon are sounding fun 😐

From the look of your avatar, it doesn't look like you need anything. Great looking Jeep. Regarding getting to see other Jeeps back there, I did not. Mel was extremely friendly and personable but I didn't want to bother him.

It's been awhile since I've gone to Holy Jim. Every time I tried going the fire trails were closed and the only path was the path to the hiking area. It would be nice to know other trails back there and I would definitely do it on the way home from work.

There used to be a lot of fire roads back in the canyon, but most have them have been closed and never re-opened.

I haven't made the appointment yet. Mel only took my info down so Drew can call me sometime during the week. Hopefully I can get in the 1st week of May. I'm in Northern Orange County. Kind of like the last exits right before Corona. Way inland.

I can only dream to having slabs and 60's and DD. I would be the coolest kid on the block, no joke. But for now I'm glad I enjoy watching a good crawl. Those are always free and I can afford that!

Well sometimes dreams do come true. Back when I had my YJ I only dreamed of being able to have 35's and able to do some fire roads. I'm sure if your jeep will be there before you know it.
Btw I'm in Hermosa Beach, we should hook up for some wheeling!

I am totally down to wheel! Even if it's a one day trip or few days I always make an excuse to drive somewhere.

I don't think the bumper turned out bad at all. We gotta do what we can afford man. I painted mine in the one car garage at my apartment with almost no light in it when it was 100 degrees. There's a few drips and it's not perfect but it's MINE!!!!!

Thanks JKJosh14. I also painted my bumper when it was 100 degrees outside. I thought the heat would help but apparently not.

oh ok. I always come in through El Toro Road and go as far as where every one parks to start their hike but have never gone pass that. I was beginning to think all the good stuff was pass that point.
