King Coil Overs and AGM sliders? Help/ Advise

So I finally pulled the trigger and ordered up a Evo Double D Pro kit and I took Eddies advise and also got the 1350 driveshaft's for front and rear.

I have been looking for everything I can find on the subject of coil-overs and Evo long arms.

I keep running across the videos and the post about how the Kings have this issue with noise and wear from the sliders making contact with the shock body.

My question's are:

1. Is this still an issue?
2. Are the AGM sliders worth the extra 400 plus?
3. It looks like King does now make an enhanced slider however it appears to be different than AGM's

I can not stand any kind of squeaks or rattles. Watched one video with the before and after of the grinding noise. That before noise was horrible.

Thank you for any words of wisdom you can provide.

I don't have the AGMs but I do have the new King sliders with zero squeaks the previous King sliders made a awful noise. 400$ is a lot cash & wasn't worth it for me.

we have them on the blue jeep and from what i read they are nice and help with spring stuff. As for sound i dont have any noise from my coilovers in the rear on the green jeep. that being said i plan to get them when money is a little better. so to answer your question i would say they are worth it in the long run but are not needed right away.

Can you post the link to the before and after video you are referring to, please?

Yeah UtiAdam that was the videos I was talking about. So you recommend them I take it. :thumb:

I just was not sure if it had been addressed and the new CO's had the new King slider or if I needed to get the AGM's.

Looking at some web sites about them they sure are trick and I could see where they would really make a difference.

I just installed an enforcer pro lift. The kit came with the old sliders and they are a little noisy. Not terrible, but not silent. I'm probably going to have to get some new sliders for the rear for sure.

On the up side, I hit a pretty good bump on the freeway and the coilovers are amazing compared to the stock suspension. I might be able to live with a little noise.

I've been running the CO for almost two years. I don't even hear the noise. From what I see, the extra 400 could be spent in other areas. I've seen the grey sliders get in the way on adjusting the timing rings as well.

I like them. As aspenkid said... It caused me some issues with the timing rings. All I can say is don't take advice on setting the timing rings from people that don't have the AGM sliders. If you set to 1" above the slider you will get coil bind when flexing

Yup, we got that sorted out. Thanks for the help with that

Thanks for the help guys.

I have really learned a lot reading all of the posts about coil overs. No where else can you get this kind of information.

Photo of your coilover bushings top mount and your timing ring location?

The timing ring location will vary depending on preload (lift height). I'm around 4.5" lift right now but will probably lower it when I get 37s.

I had heard they were coming out with one. This image shows one with a long skirt on top like the AGM ones. (Borrowed from Genrights website.)

However I can not find it anyplace for sale. The link to Genrites site takes you to the AGM ones. (maybe some kind of prototype?)

The only image I can find for the Billet Nylon Coil Slider appears to look just like the current sliders. May be the answer for adjustability reasons.
These nylon ones are standard on the Pure Race series but an option on the Performance series.

So what is a "Composite" coil slider made from?
The ones in UtiAdams video sounded like Aluminum on Aluminum.

Thanks upnover I am going to look into those. I can live with 18ea. if it quiets them down.

My main concern is wear, second would be the noise. I know it would drive me nuts if it sounded like that video did. :icon_crazy:

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1433217060.579827.jpg moved mine down from the yellow line to the red line in my photo for a starting point( these are my rears). I am running the sliders as they came from EVO.

Thank you. I was more interested in a photo of the coil over top mount bracket/bushing set up.
