Gear ratio for 35's

Hello I was wondering if people have any help for me when choosing what ratio to go for.
I've been told that a 4.88 while be a good all rounder?!

Also do you know if this is an easy enough job to do at home, or is specialist equipment needed?

Definitely have a reputable shop do it, it's extremely easy to screw up if you don't know what your doing and could destroy everything in there if done incorrectly. I mean unless you're an experienced mechanic and know how do it of course

Based on your question, have a shop do it. Nothing personal, but it is a very specialized job with special tools. If you do want to know what's involved in it though, there are many youtube videos on it. Might as well change bearings with a master overhaul kit while you're in there.

Ok thank you I will try to find somewhere to do it. It's not easy to find specialists in Saudi Arabia I will have to travel around the GCC.

I would go with 4.56. I did 4.88 and I'm at 3200 rpm's when traveling at 75 mph. It's a little too deep for a vehicle that isn't wheeled all the time however it is really nice when in 4wd or towing my boat

I did 4.88 gearing for mine with 35s and I love it. Highway is 3k or under. Too scared to go fast enough to go over 3k rpm haha. I like the rocks off roading and I idle over many obstacles.
