I daily drive my 95 YJ Sahara and it started popping out of first gear. As I understand it; the syncros are only 2nd thru 5th: So would this be a "fork" issue? Any advice would be welcomed!

Given the age of your jeep there is probably too much wear between the dog teeth and the selector hub or the fork and the selector hub that isn't pushing it all the way home so the gear isn't fully engaged. Only way to know for sure is to tear it down.
