Caught the Bug
My brother purchased this last year and I finally got a chance to look it over. It's a 1955 Willys Wagon. It's really straight looking Jeep but it's missing some originality. The engine and transmission has been replaced with a slant six out of a '79 something dodge. I haven't crawled underneath it yet to find out what the tranny/transfer case is. Front axle has been replaced with a Dana 44 to go along with the 44 in the rear. It also has a steering column from a Comanche or Cherokee.

It's got a lot of potential to be a fun project for the two of us. Hopefully I can teach him a few things. So I decided to add a second "FrankenWillys" to this thread since I'll will have both in my garage and it follows the theme of my brothers. I picked this up from a good friend today. It was his mother's. The jeep is a 1951 Willys CJ-3A. The axles have been swapped out for ones from a CJ-5. The engine is a 4.3L Vortec with a 570cfm Holly four barrel and long tube headers. The transmission is a T-18 with a Dana 20 T-case bolted up to it. It was a blast to drive and I spun the tires leaving every stop sign. Never used 1st gear because it was too low. Tires are 33x12.5x15 Wildcats. I'm eager to make it my own. I haven't had a chance to work on them. Moved into a new house, new job and plenty of new parts for my JK. Things are finally starting to slow down.
