The building of GR8WHITE2.0 aka The Silver Piece

Well... As some already know my 2014 JKUR named GR8WHITE is gone. Its was sad seeing it go but I decided it was time to start over and build something with more axle, cheaper (less f***s given), shorter wb, and lower cog. I bought the rubi brand new and I learned a lot from wheelin and maintaining it.
But now, onto the new build. I wanted to start with the cheapest 2dr I could find. So, I found this 2010 2dr jk sport 6spd with HALF DOORS and a/c for 15,500 so I bought it. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463418639.395111.jpg The end goal is to have a rig i can go 75 down the highway and then beat the s*** out of it and drive it home. I am trying to keep the build as "cheap" as possible and don’t plan on spending anymore than 35k all in. (including the price of the jeep) I will start collecting parts slowly for about a month until I have everything, then i'm gonna tear down the jeep. Hoping to only have the jeep out of commission for no longer than a month. The whole idea is all go and no show.

Looks sweet. Be prepared to get very intimate with your sawzall, grinder and welder.

In 9 short days the jeep turned into this ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463421096.887424.jpg for the sole purpose of hitting the windrock pre-run. I will do my best to catch everyone up on the build shortly.

I must say, I was absolutely shocked at what a stock suspension JK with 37s and open D30 and D44 axles could do. You were giving it hell down at the bottom of rattle rock but it makes me saline how much more capable my rig is than I am.

So the first thing i did to the jeep is I made the front bumper. I also scored an old warn for $325 at a pawn shop. Took about 3 days with working about 4 hours each to get it done. Heres a bunch of pics of the build process. How you didn't break somethings other than a fender and a few dings, I have NO clue. Definitely interested in seeing what the driver side rocker looks like!

Forgive me for being ignorant, but why stretch a Jeep to begin with? To get tires away from tub or what?

Lol. I'm not much of a rock crawler, more of a get out and explore shit, so maybe I'm missing something.

Really wheelbase depends on a lot of things such as how you wheel, size tires and also moving them away from the tub will give u a better approach and departure angle for climbing steeper stuff without anything getting in the way.
