Hello all,

The name is Nick and I have been a JK owner/user since 2008. My Girlfriend, friends and family are all tired of how I only talk about Jeeps, so here I am.
I took time off work and went back to school to learn mechanics so I can do as much work as possible myself. I graduated and have been learning the ropes with plenty of cursing and swearing along the way.

Since 2008 I have beaten my JK up learning how to wheel. Some hard lessons included, broken windows, being stranded over night and having to purchase a new engine block.. Sigh*.
I have purchased various aftermarket components but I feel it's time to make my dream happen which is Dana 60's with 40's. My 35's were great but the obstacles are getting larger.

The local climate has taken a tole on my JK and life dilemmas made the vehicle sit for a while causing nasty rust. I take full responsibility for the rust and to rectify the issue I am completely giving my JK an overhaul.

What you see is what is left of my 2008, 4 door JK.

If anyone is interested in seeing the process feel free to drop by. I'm here to learn and hear advice and if I can help anyone I will.

Cheers to everyone.

Nick (Big Bad Wolf)

Thanks guys!

I'm going to start a thread under builds. I'm currently saving for Dana 60's, in the meantime tons of cosmetic and fab work to do. My dash has been tossed out... Who needs that anyhow right ? :thumb:

Curious as to why Dana 60s and not something from Dynatrac?

Welcome to WAL!

I should have just said 60's.

To be honest getting Dynatrac 60's where I live is hard. I'm on an island in Canada and the government loves to charge an arm and leg for custom/duties.

As of now it's Currie, Teraflex or Dana Ultimate. This is a subject I want to discuss but im sure the board has already exausted the subject.

I would love nothing more than to run a front Pro Rock 44 Unlimited but I am going to be using 40" tires.

The Ultimate Dana 60's are a lot cheaper than Dynatrac here, like 17k CAN vs 25k CAN . "If" the Dana's are strong enough you do seem to get a lot for your money. Are they super tough ? I'm not sure anyone here knows ?

If I could I would run Dynatrac, no questions asked. G2 is pushed here, the Currie housing and shafts seem ok but the rest by G2 I am not so excited about.

Pro Rock 44 upfront and 60 in rear would save me loads of coin.. I can get a 44 for a reasonable price here.

I don't mean to ramble but It's a good topic.
