Moab (and Colorado), Sept 17th-23rd 2016

My wife and I just got back from our week trip that took us from Kansas City to Moab. On the way home we spent a day on some mild trails in Colorado. We had a great time and I'm certainly glad my wife got to experience this. (Little back story, my wife, had a heart & double lung transplant in 2007. She is now experiencing rejection of the lungs and not doing well. She said she wanted to go to Moab..... so I made it happen! We took 46 Oxygen tanks with us, a generator and an Oxygen concentrator to meet her breathing needs. It wasn't easy.. but we had a good time) We met a couple new friends on the trails which made it that much greater.

Moab trails we ran: Gemini Bridges, Fallen Peace Officer Trail, Fins & Things, Metal Masher, Hell's Revenge & Top of the World
Colorado trails we ran: Shrine Pass, Wearyman Creek & McAllister Gulch

Scenic Overlook in western Colorado. Towing our 5x10 Cargo Trailer converted to a camper.

Our Campsite at night... lights are powered from 100W Roof mounted solar panel. Loved the place we found to camp... blocked from the wind by a large formation. Just off of Needles Overlook Road south of Moab.

Another long exposure from our campsite.

Playing with a flashlight and Long Exposures at night.

Fins & Things

Fins & Things

Metal Masher looking over Hwy 191.

Hell's Revenge

Hell's Revenge Overlook

View from Hell's Revenge Overlook

Starting the descent of Hell's Gate (on Hell's Revenge Trail)

Climbing Hell's Gate (on Hell's Revenge Trail)

Hell's Revenge... got caught out there in the dark.... very intimidating on some of those fins and slickrock at night!

Trail going up Top of the World

Wearyman Creek Trail (CO)

McAllister Gulch Trail (Summit of Resolution Mountain). Started snowing on this trail.. adding to the difficulty of getting to the top. Was beautiful trail with the fall colors and the snow.

The things you do for the people you love. I have a wife and 3 daughters that I would go to hell and back for if they needed it.
