VIDEO : FIRST TRACKS / Part 1 - Testing Moby's New 40" Cooper STT Pros in the Snow

Well before the crack of dawn and surrounded by a bluish glow of light reflecting off a blanket of freshly fallen snow, Cindy and I packed up Moby and headed up into the desert hills just down the road from us. Winter was finally here and it was time for us to lay down our first tracks of the season and to test out our brand new 40" Cooper Discoverer STT Pros. While there wasn't a ton of snow, we still had a great time and we hope that you'll still enjoy watching this short presentation of all the fun we had.

For those of you who are interested, a few photos from our day out in the white stuff can also be seen below.

Just when we were starting to think that winter would never come, Cindy and I woke up to our first real snow of the year.

Time to head out to the stable and pick a Jeep to get out and play with.

Being that we just got a brand new set of 40" Cooper Discoverer STT Pros, Moby would be the one that gets to lay down some first tracks.

With the sun just starting to rise, we made our way off the hills so that we could head up into the mountains.

On the other side of our small valley, we worked our way up into the pines and into deeper snow.

Looks like fun!

Sure was! So glad to finally have snow :wings:

Sweet view of the valley from the top. Also, I saw my first set of 40" tires this weekend (newb, I know). Wow. Even bigger than I imagined. Must be a lot of fun to drive Moby around.

LOL!! Yeah, 40's are pretty big and way more so than what we were used to before the JK came along. They definitely help make Moby to be a ton of fun to drive

Looks like a blast!! I can't wait till we get our first snow!

Bummer you don't have any yet. I was starting to think we wouldn't get any in November which would have been weird.

Nice! Glad you guys got a chance to go play in the white stuff this morn. Moby killing it as usual. Great pics and vid!

Thanks! We knew the snow was coming and before the crack of dawn, we were already up and rearin to get out in it. :D

Sure does look like fun. Doesn't look like you even aired down.

LOL!! Good eye - we probably should have but didn't.

Just curious how they are in the snow, currently have KM2's which are not the greatest snow tire.

Mud Terrains as a whole don't do that great in snow/ice. I have run KM2's in the past and still do on my J2000 and they really suck in the snow. That being said, of all the M/T's I have run, these Coopers perform the best in the white stuff bar none.

Really? For some reason, I thought you guys would have gotten a lot more up there. Up in Kings Canyon, there was almost a foot of the white stuff. We took some video of us in it too and will try to get a video up on it sometime soon.

If you spend a lot of time in the snow, I would recommend having the center lugs siped. It's not a perfect solution but it does help.
