I'm not looking to climb mountains, most of the offroading I do is the beach or some dirt/gravel trails

Make a JK climb a mountain is pretty easy. A lift kit and bigger tires will get you pretty much everywhere.
What separates the quality suspensions from the junk is what they do on road.
This forum is very pro Off Road Evolution, which is not a bad thing you can't go wrong with Evo. Very good quality parts with good street manners and serious off road chops.
We push JKS JSpec kits, because in our experience you'll get all of the street ride and off ready durability with really good handling and load carrying capacity.
Of course, both of these brands are US made by enthusiasts which something that is important to us. They will actually be an net IMPROVEMENT over the factory ride and drive,.
You don't have to go crazy on the kit, just a basic kit retaining the factory arms and some quality 2.0 shocks will get you where you need to be. While 3.5" of lift is a good number on an Unlimited because of its porcine nature, a 2.5" kit will fit 35s and won't give you the little bit bumpsteer a base 3.5" kit will. As mentioned here a draglink flip is highly recommended in a 3.5" lift. You won't need to worry about any of that on a 2.5" kit.
