Oil sending unit

So my engine light came on at just about 25k miles. I checked the code it was the oil sending unit / sensor. I took it to the dealer and they said it would be done in a few days. That night they call me and tell me it's done, nice, right? So at the dealer I pop the hood and they definitely did not remove my intake manifold to replace it. I see on the web that you can change the 3.6 in vehicles where it is mounted sideways. My question is can you change it in a Wrangler without removing the intake? Has anyone had the same experience? They said they only put new gaskets etc. on the work order for Jeep because that's what they want to see....
