Bike carrier options

Hey guys. Looking for a bike carrier. I have a 37 hanging off the back. Not sure if there is one that is a hitch mount that will clear the tire.
So what's my options?

Harbor Freight hitch-extender. Adds a little bit of wobble but it could work with a hitch-mount bike hauler.

How much of an extender is it?

I'm not sure. 18 inches I think. In the pic, the extender has a built-in step on the bar. The end of the extender is flush with the end of the step. Sticks out beyond my tire. You can borrow it if you wanna try it, if you do end up getting a bike carrier.

We have a hitch mounted bike carrier already. Just didn't know they made extensions like that. Guess I really didn't pat attention

...it has a bolt and insert instead of a pin. Takes a lot of the wobble away. NOT tow rated, but works great with my 4-bike hitch mount Thule.

This is before I put a new spare on, but it is a 33x12 and there's plenty of room. This one is an 11" extension and has two mounting holes for adjustment.

I thought about getting a bike rack for awhile. I would look at something like this:

It's the Thule 963PRO Spare Me Spare Tire Rack. You could even save a little by not buying the Thule brand.. but that's on you. I prefer this design because you don't have to mess with the hitch. Plus, if you find yourself on a mild trail, you don't have to worry about ripping your bike carrier off.

Yeah, this is what I looked at first, but they don't make a 4-bike :grayno: I'm sure they'd be good for a 2-bike though (with a reinforced/aftermarket spare carrier).

I have the same issue. I use a thule T2 classic with a hitch drop adapter that lowers the mounting point by about 3" and pushes it out buy 7-10 to clear the rear tire.

it pushes the rack out so it flips up without hitting the spare and lowers the thule so the tire clears it when opening without the bikes on it.
