I just found out I have to be out west for a business meeting the end of the first week of October. I plan to drive from Ohio to Colorado and will have an extra day to spend wheeling. I am running my 2 dr JK Rubi with a teraflex leveling kit and putting 33's on next week. I am armored underneath and winched. I will be in Ouray area. Since I am basically stock and by myself what trails would be good to run.

Most of the big ones will be closed by then, but you likely can find a few good ones still open on the alpine loop

It will be my first wheeling trip there. Looks like the alpine loop will be on the list if others are closed. Thanks for the info.

Get Charles Wells trail guide for Southern CO (you can get it on Amazon). There are about 100 trails, rated and described, including waypoints. Each trail has the phone number for the respective US Forest Service district that controls that trail. Call and they can give you current conditions. They are a great source for off road info.
