2017 Off-Road EXPO Highlights

Cindy and I have been attending the Off-Road Expo for about as long as it's been around and even back before it was called that. Thanks to the price of gas and other factors, the show had been in decline for years but I happy to say, it's come back quite a bit and the 2017 show was maybe the biggest and most crowded I've seen since maybe 2006! While there wasn't really anything too new and exciting to see in regards to JK's, it was nice to see big full size trucks on display (always a sign of a strong economy) as well as a whole host of old iron. In fact, Early Broncos seemed to be the flavor of the day as they seemed to be everywhere. Anyway, here are a handful of pics that we took from the show. Of course, if you were there and took some pics, we'd love to see them and would be grateful if you could post them up.

As some of you may know, we were lucky enough to have been asked by Dynatrac to have Rubicat on display at their booth. Here's a few shots of what she looked like at the show.

It was awesome to see the all new standard cut XD60 rear axle.

Coupled with an XD60 front axle, you have the all new Hard Core Plus package.

Had to make a stop over at the EVO display to see the cool rigs they had out at the show.

If you could only hear this bad boy running - so much want!

Now we're talking - EVO trailing arms!!

As mentioned, early Broncos were the flavor of old iron at the 2017 Off-Road Expo and to the point where golf carts were made to look like one.
20171003190233-bfe4a678.jpg

You know this is the kind of old iron I want - can you say L96 6.0L Vortec under the hood!
20171003190226-0c465a23.jpg

Certainly nothing new but still one of my favorites.

Saw this on one of the JK's on display. Guess the suspension was a bit rougher than expected :D

Honestly, if you could only see the quality of work that went into this gorgeous FJ40. I don't know if I could ever take it out wheeling and by the look of things, it's NEVER seen dirt.

This ol' flat fender was super clean too.

Again, old iron was what a lot of folks were into and to the point where they were making brand new side-by-sides look like one. I have to say, I kinda like it too

There were just a few but a couple of trailers made their way to the show as well such as this Bear Teardrop.

How do you not like a show that has a distillery offering up FREE samples of whiskey from Forty Creeks - CHEERS!

And finally, the one rig that you just couldn't stop looking at. Say hello to the $185k Rezvani Tank JK body kit running a 500 HP 6.4L V8 and factory Dana 30/Dana 44 axles.

Oh, one last thing that I saw that some of you might be interested in. Ran into a new company called Trigger who makes a bluetooth controlled accessory system. Essentially, it's something similar to an sPOD or Switch Pros only, you don't need to bring any wiring into the cab and because of it, you can mount the switches ANYWHERE in your Jeep or not at all. You can also control what the switches do from your iPhone and the best part about the Trigger is that it's slated to retail for about $200!!

I was told that by SEMA, they are going to have different versions of this system and I look forward to seeing them.

Anyway, that was the show in a nutshell. Again, if you were there and have some shots you'd like to share, we'd love it if you could post them up :thumb:

Fantastic pics! I didn’t realize they did an engine swap in the 2 door UAE build, what did they put into it? And did EVO give any info on their stretch kit?

It's got a custom EVO spec HEMI under the hood that has 100 more HP than EVO 1 at the wheels!

I might try to make this show next year...still undecided if I'm going to sema this year...

LOL!! The show is one of the better small ones I've been to but I don't know if it'd be worth going out of your way to go to. It's no SEMA that's for sure.

Love the coverage Eddie! Glad we were all able to get together. See everyone real soon!

It was great to see you and Joy again :yup:

Why thank you. I hope JeepFan sees this :D

It was too bad that I missed meeting you Eddie but stopping by the Dynatrac booth proved still proved to be beneficial. I spoke to the guy in the glasses (I think he was the owner?) for about 20 minutes. He was cool enough to explain everything about the PR44 and what it would take to get everything switched out from my Dana 30. Just a great guy and he definitely earned a customer. Now I just need the cash.

The show was amazing and the guys over at EVO hooked me up with their tailgate tire carrier kit with all the trimmings (LP relocation bracket and jack mount) for a great price that I just couldn't pass up. Didn't hurt that I also replenished my sticker collection as well. The only bummer was I couldn't track down anyone at BR Goodrich who could tell me when the KM3's were hitting the shelves. Maybe someone else got lucky.

The more I get into this hobby the more I get the privilege of meeting really cool people. Another great Expo for sure.

Cool coverage and was good seeing you guys! Did you catch the broncos down at the end of hall 4? They may have been some of the nicest I’ve personally seen.

The new EVO steel fenders and vented inner fenders are both available now at offroadevolution.com and NR.

I'm quite sure these were available at the show and should be in stock now. :yup:

I did and yes, they were SWEET!! I wanted to take pics of them but there were too many people in the way at the time.
