10/28/17: Miller Jeep Trail

Since Slavens' party got pushed back, I am considering hitting the Miller Jeep Trail on Saturday. I've been wanting to get there this year and haven't had a chance. They usually close it at the end of October/beginning of November, so I figure this will be the last chance for this season. Anyone else up to going?

Tentative plan: meet up at the Flying J in Lebec at 10am, gas up and hit the Lockwood trail that connects to Miller by 10:30am.

Not like they would be worth a damn even if you got them back at this point. Lol.

Well, y'all missed a great day... Lockwood/Miller Jeep trail is a fun time! Wasn't really expecting much from some of the talk I've heard, but it's got a few good obstacles and some really great views.

Thanks for running with me today, Greer! It was good to see you again and to meet your daughter. Keep an eye on that one. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚

Sorry, no pics... I was running without my copilot. ๐Ÿ˜”

Thanks for putting it together. Itโ€™s a fun run with a few challenges and, like you say, some great views. Happy we both made it through with no mechanicals.

Sounds like you guys had fun on this one. I have yet to run this trail. To bad they close it during the winter.

Yeah, it was a fun time! I'd run it again in a heartbeat. ๐Ÿ‘

This one would be pretty sketchy in the winter. Narrow shelf roads with long, steep rock gardens and blind tight turns would be bad when wet or snow covered.

It generally opens sometime in May depending on how quickly they can make sure it's safe. I'll keep an eye on it and try and set up a run. ๐Ÿ‘
