Warn synthetic rope - puck question

    IMG_9565.JPG

Need some advice... is the puck supposed to go in more than this? And if so how did you get ‘er in??

This is by far the most challenging part of the!winch install, otherwise straightforward

    THANKS!!

As long as the Puck won't fall out, you're probably fine. As you pre-stretch the rope or use the winch, it may get sucked down a bit more.

Just make sure it's in far enough where there's nothing sticking out that would damage the first layer of rope coil. And really, who cares? You shouldn't ever pull out line where there isn't at least 5 strands of the first row showing so it really won't hurt anything if it's not all the way in. Where the rope attaches to the drum has nothing to do the holding force while you're winching.

But if it's sticking up and it creates a hump when the coil rows go on top of it, each row on top of that will have that hump.

Thanks GraniteCrystal and WJCO! Was hoping that was the case. WJCO - thanks for the post on winch wiring for a few years ago, I am following that.

About us
“wayoflife” is a moniker that I’ve been using for 20 years now and I chose it because I think it does a great job of explaining, in simple terms, the passion I have for Jeeps and the Jeep way of life. This is a lifestyle that transcends age, gender and race as the only thing you need to be a part of it is a love for the outdoors, a desire to explore, a yearning to take on a challenge and a will to conquer it. Over the years, Cindy and I have attempted to capture the essence of this lifestyle through photographs and videos and share it with others around the world. And, this is how WAYALIFE was born.
