Hey everyone, I didn't see anything specific in the search so here it is.
The other day I went to put my jeep into 4hi (we finally got some good snow) and the shifter went all loose and moved freely. The vehicle never went into 4hi. Expecting the worst, I switched the kiddo and stuff over into my wife's Subaru and off to school/work we went. After some researching I thought it was the little bushing/clips that hold the cable in place. Nope, they were fine. Come to notice the cable itself popped out of the hanger that is bolted to the transmission. If you have never looked at it its only held in by a plastic clip (blue in my case), so I threw a zip tie around it for good measure.
Just thought I would throw this out as a heads up if folks have this happen.
