Well, my EVO rocksliders came in and started to paint them. I took OverlanderJK and others advice and scrapped the POR 15.

POR-15 is for rusted areas. Not something that is brand new.

Well, I am going to attempt to do them myself. I did my C-Gussets and built my stinger bar myself and welded it to my bumper. I think they turned out ok.

I don't know, I just don't like other people working on my jeep. When I had warranty work done I watched them the whole time. It is like going to the hospital and them operating on your child, hahahaha!

Finished Painting EVO Sliders

Well, here they are finished painting them. On one side where the EVO Logo is has a few blemishes. Initially I had them standing on a table, well a friend bumped the table and they fell over with wet paint and the cardboard under them left impressions. I figure with the heck with it they are going to get banged up anyway. I did end up hanging them up from the ceiling, which I should have done in the first place, but was a little lazy.

It's also not UV resistant and has to be top coated. I coated with a poly urethane.

Look good. Is that Truck bed coating rubbery? Doesn’t seem to be textured at all. Just curious as my Boatside Bombers are on the way. And I may do the same thing with them. They look great, how many coats of each?

No, it is not rubbery, but it does have a little bit of texture.

Do yourself a little favor and hang them while painting. i tried standing them on the feet propped up, it did not go so well. I put 3 coats of the self etching primer on and about four coats of paint.

It almost looks like powdercoat when it's done. It's pretty cool stuff. Easy to touch up as well.
