Transfer Case Seal Leak

I noticed my undercarriage was wet behind the transfer case, slung onto muffler, etc and decided it was coming from the rear seal on the transfer case. Completed the change yesterday and woke up this morning to this (see pic). There’s a small are underneath from a few drips overnight.

Any idea why my brand new seal is leaking??

Depending on the miles on your jeep the old seal could have worn a grove in the shaft of the slip yoke. Just another downside to having a slip yoke. I don't think anyone makes a sleeve for the yoke. You could get a new to you slip yoke from the junkyard, order a new one from Omix-Ada, or do a slip yoke eliminator.

Thanks for the advice. I had the driveshaft looked at by a driveline shop... new yoke, u-joints and a 1/2” extension, all better!
